On Tuesday, we kicked off a week-long celebration of Backline’s Talkline and its 12-year anniversary of providing open-hearted, judgment-free support to callers at any stage of their pregnancy or parenting journeys. Whether you’re new to learning about the Talkline or have been following us since the early days, you need to know these top 5 reasons why our Talkline rocks!

1. We’re here for ALL of it.

Our Talkline isn’t dedicated only to processing pregnancy loss or asking questions about an upcoming abortion. We’re here for both – and much more. What makes our all-options Talkline so unique (and so awesome!) is that we’re here for the full-spectrum of pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption decisions. Whether you just took a pregnancy test or want to talk about an experience from months or years ago, there’s no wrong reason or time to call us. We’re here for all of it. We’ve got you!

Our volunteer Talkline Advocates are what make the Talkline the invaluable resource it is. They contribute such radical skills in compassionate listening to the Talkline that we can’t help but call them our Radvocates! Each person on the line brings different experiences and perspectives to their calls, but warmhearted, judgment-free, all-options care are staples across the board. No one beats our crew!

4. Whether you’re #blessed or not, we’ve got you covered.

While our Talkline is a secular service, there’s always room for callers to talk about how their spirituality plays into their feelings about pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption. But if you’re looking to speak to a faith leader about pregnancy options or abortion, we’ve got you covered there too. Faith Aloud is now a part of Backline, offering clergy counseling and support so that callers can move forward with strength and confidence in any decision they make.

When you call the Talkline, our Radvocates will connect you with the best referrals and resources depending on your needs; from adoption and abortion to pregnancy loss and parenting.
